Colorful Iris
Hi there. Vera here bringing you more floral inspiration on behalf of The Ton. A few weeks ago I saw Effie playing with this Climbing Iris Layering Stencil and it inspire me to play with it as well.

Sometimes when playing with stencil, I forgot that I also have the coordinating stamp. And, I realized how the outline makes the flower popped more. Here I start by stamping the flower from Coming Up Iris on a a soft pink colored cardstock. Next, I inked up the stencil using Parisian Blue, Periwinkle, Spring Violet, Lemon Drop, Dolled Up and Soft Garden.

As you can see on the above pic the original blue part was a bit too soft and I just went back to 1st layer and repeat the layering all over again. I'd rather start with too soft then too strong as I can't undo the coloring if they're too bold for my liking. Done with the coloring, I stamped the sentiment from Coming Up Daisies side way. Who says sentiment have to be horizontal all the time, right?

as always, I love adding enamel drop for finishing touch. I am really happy with the way this card turned out. Bonus time! I had so much fun playing with this set and was feeling inspired, I made another card with the same set, except this time I used watercolor.

Have to admit though, I am not too crazy with this second card. I think it's because I keep comparing it to the first card. I figure I still share it anyway. Well friends, hope my cards today inspired you to get crafty. Never stop creating! Till next time!
